First thing you will need to understand is that in order for you to be an efficient and successful affiliate marketer you are going to have to understand what roll you will be taken on, you need to understand inside the numbers and the revenue processes.

This affiliate model is pretty simple. Affiliate marketing allows you the Affiliate to promote and sell a product or service online for companies that offer Affiliate programs. There are many thousands of them. Chances are if you can purchase something online you can probably also promote the product as an affiliate through an affiliate program. You would get a personal affiliate link to use to promote the products after joining the affiliate program.

Your website will be the home base for your affiliate promotions. When visitors come to your site and they click on your Affiliate link you will get the credit for making the sale if this visitor goes on to by purchase something.

So Amazon pays around 6% commissions and lets say you are linking on your site via your affiliate link to a top end flat screen TV.

This TV sells for $2,100. So your 6% would be $126.
